Redfish Technology’s ‘One for One’ Initiative Hits 500 Hours, and Counting
The ‘One for One’ Community Service Initiative has surpassed 500 volunteer hours given by the Redfish Technology staff. Recent volunteering has been with the Sawtooth United Football Club, the Girl Scouts, Girls on the Run, and the Steelheads Youth Hockey.
The ‘One for One’ program was designed by the Redfish Technology employees to give $100 and 1 hour of volunteer time per placement made by the recruiting firm. The Redfish recruiters have gone beyond the hours indicated by the program, volunteering for many community organizations. Recent beneficiaries include Girls on the Run, Sawtooth United Football Club, the Girl Scouts, the Papoose Club, and the Steelheads Youth Hockey.
Joanna Bradley, IT Sales & Marketing Recruitment Manager, coached the spring session of Girls on the Run. GOTR is an experiential learning program for young girls that combines training for a 5K running event with self-esteem enhancing, uplifting workouts. Leah O’Flynn, IT Sales & Marketing Recruiter, joined in to help for the big race on May 18, where she manned one of the water stations and handed out beads to the girls. “I really enjoyed seeing girls of all ages having fun while running together.”
“It’s great to work for a company that allows you flexibility in your schedule to participate in programs like coaching youth soccer,” said Jon Piggins, IT Sales & Marketing Recruiter. Jon coached a Sawtooth United Football Club team this spring. The club strives to enhance the player’s skills and to promote a lifelong love of soccer, while developing knowledge of commitment, self-discipline, sportsmanship and teamwork.
Beth Cliff, IT Engineering Recruitment Manager, took her Junior Girl Scout Troop on a spring weekend camping trip this month. “It was the first time the girls, ages 9 and 10, pitched their own tents, and slept outdoors,” reported Bath. “They hiked, built campfires, cooked on their vagabond stoves, made s’mores and enjoyed the great outdoors. They can’t wait to do it again in the fall.”
Greg Schreiner, volunteered at the Blaine County Recreation District’s basketball clinic. John Stevens continued coaching the Idaho Youth Steelheads hockey. Anna Mathieu continued as publicist for the Papoose Club.
A socially responsible company, Redfish values investing in its communities. Designed and implemented by the Redfish recruiters, the ‘One for One’ Community Service program formalizes the company’s commitment to local communities.
