The Rise of Fall Employment Numbers
Back to school, back to work, fall is kicking into gear! Redfish recruiting staff report a strong September with most hiring activity in the Software Development, Enterprise Video, Enterprise Security Management, Mobile Social Networking, and Wearable Health Technology sectors. The leading roles hired were: Web Designers, Backend Engineers, Mobile Engineers, Lead Application Packager, and Account Executives.
ADP reported that 213,000 private-sector jobs were added in September. “September’s jobs added number marks the sixth straight month of employment gains above 200,000. It’s a positive sign for the economy to see the 200,000-plus trend continue,” said Carlos Rodriguez, president and chief executive officer of ADP in a press release.
“American companies are hiring again at a healthy pace, adding 248,000 jobs in September, the Bureau of Labor Statistics reported Friday” headlines the NYTimes.com. Total nonfarm payroll employment reportedly went up by 248,000 in September, and July and August numbers were both revised upward, with gains totaling 69,000 more than previously reported. The unemployment rate came down to 5.9 percent.
The Bureau of Labor Statistics further reported that employment increased in professional and business services (+81,000), retail trade (+35,000), employment services (+34,000), health care (+23,000), food services and drinking (+20,000), financial activities (+12,000), and management and technical consulting services (+12,000), in the October 3rd monthly report.
U.S. consumer sentiment hit a 14-month high according to the Thomson Reuters and University of Michigan consumer sentiment survey, in fact September was the second-highest reading in seven years.
