Animal Shelter Receives Second Donation from Redfish Technology’s ‘One for One’ Program

 

Each quarter, Redfish Technology designates a community organization to receive funds from the “One for One” Community Service Initiative program. This quarter the Animal Shelter of the Wood River Valley is again the chosen beneficiary. Redfish recruiters gave $1600 earlier this year, and this quarter are awarding $900 more to the Animal Shelter.

 

The Animal Shelter of the Wood River Valley was once again chosen to receive the ‘One for One’ quarterly donation by Joanna Bradley, Sales & Marketing Recruitment Manager this quarter’s top producer. This quarter’s award is for $900, making a total donation of $2500 this year from Redfish.

 

Animal Shelter Executive Director Jo-Anne Dixon says, “It means so much to the Shelter to have the support of the community and local businesses! We truly appreciate the dedication of the staff at Redfish Technology to the well-being of homeless pets in our community.” Read more »

Animal Shelter, and others, Benefit from Redfish Technology’s ‘One for One’ Program

 

Redfish Technology presented the Animal Shelter of the Wood River Valley with a monetary donation of $1600. Many other organizations benefited from hours volunteer by Redfish staff: Sun Valley Ski Education Foundation, Papoose Club, Idaho Steelheads Youth Hockey, Sun Valley Youth Hockey, Rhode Island Vegan Awareness, The Girl Scouts of Rhode Island, BCRD: Basketball, and Sawtooth United Football Club.

Redfish made placements at the Director, Executive and Project Manager levels in January. The preponderance of the hiring was in the Cloud, Software-as-a-Service, Enterprise Systems & Network Management, Intelligence Software, and Solar Technology industries. The biggest challenges to January hiring was candidates receiving multiple offers. “We expect to see this trend continue,” states Logan Knight, IT Recruiter at Redfish. “The pool of talented candidates is drying up with all the current growth, leading to good engineers getting multiple offers.”

 

Execunet reports that a recent survey found that recruiter expectations of job creation increased in at the end of 2012, recruiters indicated that they anticipate approximately one in five companies adding executive jobs in the next six months. Contingency search firm confidence reached 41 percent in December, its highest in eight months; retained recruiter confidence dropped to 31 percent, its lowest since the debt limit crisis in late summer of 2011. Many people believe that job boards are as useful as recruiters, and may even replace them. Companies post jobs on Monster and niche boards. Job seekers are using social media to target their next job. Anyone can post a job pitch on YouTube, the world’s second largest search engine. Networking is viral, right? So why work with a recruiter?

Ironically, using the internet and working with a recruiter are quite opposite methods of locating the talent you need. And yet both are useful of course.

Remember that expression about searching for a needle in a haystack? It refers to a difficult or impossible search for a particular object amongst a huge mountain of similar objects.

Recruiters are often enlisted for the more difficult or critical talent searches. Sometimes the company doesn’t have the dedicated resources to comb the pile of resumes that can result from a job posting or other talent outreach. Often if the hiring manager isn’t the one reading the resumes initially, and the right talent may be overlooked while the hiring manager is barraged by less qualified or less suitable potential candidates.
