Best Job Numbers in 15 Years! Tech Recruiting Projections Breaking Records

The year finished up with a bang! BLS December employment news show that 252,000 were added – the strongest job growth in 15 years. These employment gains occurred in professional and business services (+52,000), construction (+48,000), food services and drinking places (+44,000), administrative and waste services (+35,000), health care (+34,000), manufacturing (+17,000), and computer systems design and related services (+9,000), according to the BLS report.

May tech recruiting revolved around Website Analytics, Wearable Health Technology, Mobile Apps, Cloud Enterprise Collaboration and Cloud Computing. The most hired positions included Data Scientist, Firmware Engineer, Server/Backend Developer, Business Analyst and Product Manager with focus on Content Organization & Discovery.


The jobs report showed a rise of 217,000 in May with the unemployment rate remaining unchanged at 6.3%. The jobs market saw an increase in hiring in professional and business services, health care and social assistance, food services, and transportation and warehousing sectors. Read more »
