We are seeking a Cloud Engineer/Administrator to join our team. This role will be responsible for implementing, monitoring, and maintaining proof-of-concept and operational solutions within cloud environments. They will deploy, administer, and manage solutions by configuring services, managing compute resources, and monitoring resource and log analytics, among other activities. They will also be relied on to identify, troubleshoot, and resolve issues. To thrive in this role, you should be comfortable working in a fast-paced, agile environment and have experience supporting proof-of-concept development teams and requirements. 

Typical Duties and Responsibilities

  • Monitor, configure, and optimize performance and availability of cloud services
  • Architect, design, secure, and implement cloud native technologies
  • Configure Windows and Linux virtual machines
  • Optimize configurations to support system and solution requirements
  • Implement security measures through security groups, VPNs, firewalls, and other cloud tools
  • Maintain and remove user identities and roles for applications
  • Implement, manage, and monitor updates and automate the management and deployment of updates across systems
  • Create, implement, and manage scripts to automate processes, activities, and infrastructure 
  • Ensure data synchronization between systems, provisioning of groups, and access governance
  • Define and communicate cloud standards for DevOps teams
  • Identify and architect automation opportunities
  • Recommend innovative solutions to improve system client delivery
  • Perform detailed system performance monitoring, analysis, and troubleshooting
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in software engineering
  • Create and maintain knowledge base documentation 
  • Provide technical guidance and support to junior team members

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field

Required Skills and Experience

  • 3+ years of experience providing system admin support and management
  • 3+ years of experience with AWS or Azure
  • Experience designing, optimizing, and deploying infrastructure into cloud environments
  • Experience configuring scale groups, managing user accounts, and monitoring cloud performance
  • Experience working with version control systems
  • Experience with tools such as Jenkins, Git, GitHub, Puppet, Ansible
  • Experience managing Windows and Linux servers
  • Experience creating, implementing, and managing scripts to automate processes and activities
  • Experience with SaaS integration 
  • Experience developing GraphQL and REST APIs
  • Experience writing modular code
  • Knowledge of API traffic management, authentication, authorization, monitoring, backup, patching, and version management
  • Knowledge of engineering best practices across the SDLC
  • Knowledge of centralized source control, CI/CD, and standard code reviews

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field
  • Microsoft Certified Azure Administrator Associate
  • CompTIA Security+ certification
