We are looking for a Cybersecurity Analyst to join our team and protect our organization from cyberattacks by monitoring our systems and evaluating threats as they arise. This role’s responsibilities include reviewing computer networks to identify potential vulnerabilities, installing the necessary software to protect our networks from unauthorized access, and documenting detections so that future breaches can be efficiently mitigated. Ultimately, they will defend our organizations’ hardware, software, and other systems from theft, loss, and other attacks. 

Typical Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develop company-wide best practices for IT security 
  • Document security breaches and assess the damage they cause
  • Work with the security team to perform tests and uncover network vulnerabilities
  • Perform penetration testing 
  • Proactively monitor the environment to detect and mitigate cyberattacks before they occur
  • Review, investigate, and respond to real-time alerts within the environment
  • Fix detected vulnerabilities to maintain a high security standard
  • Install and update software to protect our systems from unauthorized access
  • Provide technical expertise regarding security-related concepts to operational teams
  • Manage systems owned by the information security team 
  • Stay current with information technology security trends and news
  • Assess new security technologies to determine their potential value for the enterprise

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, cybersecurity, or a related field

Required Skills and Experience

  • 3+ years of experience in a security analyst or similar position 
  • Experience implementing and/or enforcing security and compliance frameworks
  • Experience creating, implementing, and managing a threat hunting program 
  • Experience managing and securing both on-premise and hosted systems and applications
  • Experience with application and database security
  • Experience with computer network penetration testing and techniques
  • Proficiency with PowerShell
  • Knowledge of firewalls, routers, switches, wireless access points, VPNs, and operating systems
  • Knowledge of Microsoft’s enterprise technology platform, including Azure, Active Directory, SQL, Office365, and Windows operating systems
  • Strong problem-solving skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Relevant industry certifications such as CEH, CISM, CISSP, GSEC, or CompTIA Security+
