Network Security Engineer
- Full Time in Office Oradell, New Jersey. This is not open to hybrid work and never will be.
- Experience required verifiable 5 years minimum Hands On
- Not looking for a manager or someone for a Leadership role. This is purely a roll up your sleeves and work the line hire
- Certifications Active and already in place with BOTH Fortinet and Cisco Meraki
- Strong and deep understanding of network protocols and security practices
- Must be able to troubleshoot complex network issues effectively
- EXTENSIVE knowledge and experience with FortiAnalyzer and FortiManager, specifically Log Review and Analysis, Indicators of Compromise, Reporting, System Failure Notifications
- Design, implement, and manage firewall rules and policies to ensure network security as it applies to compliance mandates and security frameworks. Specifically including PCI DSS, GDPR, HIPAA, CCPA, SOC2, ISO, NIST CSF, CIS.
- Configure and maintain secure VPN connections with MFA for remote access SSL-VPN, IPSEC
- Perform load balancing to optimize network performance and reliability.
- Analyzing current configurations for equipment replacement and hardening rulesets accordingly based on the above mandates all while ensuring minimal downtime.
- Onboard and offboard all network devices, including firewalls, switches, access points and routers, complete testing to ensure proper integration into existing infrastructure.
- Adherence to strict Change Management Protocols
- Ability and experience conducting postmortems, root cause analyses for security events
- English as first language. A strong command of the English language with detail to Grammer in written communications. Candidate will be communicating internally with leadership and externally with the clients/stakeholders.
- Conduct monthly audits of firewall configurations and security policies.
Salary and Benefits
Base salary contingent on meeting all the above: $125,000 annually
There are no bonuses
The first 90 days of employment are probationary. After 90 days of continued employment, candidate becomes eligible to participate in our benefits program which includes options for Heath, Dental, LTD, Life Insurance coverages (some of which are 100% Employer paid and some with generous employer contributions).
After one year of continuous employment, candidate will be eligible to earn a Merritt Increase up to the maximum of 7% of base salary. They would simultaneously have satisfied the 12 months of employment requirement to participate in the company sponsored 401K Plan. The plan includes a 100% Employer match to contributions up to the plan’s limits.
Vacation, Personal and Sick Days are calculated on an accrual basis which equates to a new hire earning 10 days of Vacation, 6 Sick Days and 2 Personal Days per calendar year. Company paid Holidays vary by year and dates and a schedule of the approved days are distributed annually. Additional information on accrual rates as well as other important information would be found in Employee Handbook.
