We are looking for an experienced technology leader to oversee the use of information technology (IT) in our company as our new Chief Information Officer (CIO). This role will be in charge of our IT and computer systems, with responsibilities including assessing our current processes, recommending software improvements, and directing the executive team on technology best practices. The CIO will take ownership of devising our company’s IT strategy and ensuring that all systems necessary to support its operations and objectives are in place. Our ideal candidate will have a solid IT background, strong strategic and business acumen, and exceptional leadership qualities.

Typical Duties and Responsibilities

  • Set objectives and strategies for the IT department
  • Select and implement suitable technology to streamline internal operations and optimize their strategic benefits
  • Design and customize technological systems and platforms to improve the customer experience
  • Plan the implementation of new systems and provide guidance to IT professionals and staff within the organization
  • Approve purchases of hardware and software and establish partnerships with IT providers
  • Oversee and manage the technological infrastructure in the organization to ensure optimal performance
  • Direct and organize IT-related projects
  • Monitor changes or advancements in technology to identify new programs that could give our company a competitive advantage
  • Analyze the costs, value, and risks of information technology and advise leadership on the best course of action
  • Take ownership of all internal IT operations
  • Implement technology to streamline business processes
  • Serve as a liaison with suppliers of IT infrastructure solutions for the organization
  • Build processes for data protection and quality assurance
  • Develop and implement training programs for employee use of new technology

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field

Required Skills and Experience

  • 10+ years of experience working in IT or information security 
  • 5+ years of experience in a technology leadership role
  • Experience designing and developing IT systems
  • Experience planning IT implementation
  • Experience with cloud storage, IT security, and customer relationship management
  • Experience with project management
  • Experience with data analysis
  • Thorough knowledge of IT systems and infrastructure
  • Knowledge of cybersecurity principles and best practices
  • Knowledge of resource allocation, budgeting, and business operations
  • Exceptional analytical and problem solving skills
  • Excellent organization and leadership skills
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in a technology-related field
