Hawkes Learning is seeking a driven, influential Field Sales Specialist for our Florida, California/Nevada, Boston, and Chicago territories; candidates should be located in one of these states or metro areas specifically. The Field Sales Specialist will be responsible for selling all Hawkes Learning solutions to new and existing customers within the assigned territory by initiating daily in-person and virtual, on-campus sales calls with college faculty, administrators and technology staff. Extensive training and professional development are provided to help employees thrive in this position. Field Sales Specialists receive a guaranteed commission in the first year in addition to a competitive base salary, with an uncapped commission structure based on revenue generation in subsequent years.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Work virtually and travel to college campuses to sell educational software and course content to college faculty
  • Manage, control and progress the entire sales process from prospecting to closing in an assigned territory
  • Assist with hosting virtual and in person conferences, webinars, and company events
  • Develop strong relationships with new and existing customers by demonstrating our products and recommending custom solutions with our educational materials
  • Generate new leads, identify, and contact decision-makers, and develop potential sales opportunities
  • Conduct both online and onsite product demonstrations
  • Perform targeted market research and maintain contact database
  • Partner with the marketing team to execute follow up strategies for designed campaigns and lead-generating initiatives
  • Collaborate with colleagues in the customer support to assist with expansion efforts and onboarding of new accounts

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Ability and willingness to travel locally to college campuses and periodically nationally to meetings and conferences
  • Direct outside sales experience preferred
  • Publishing or Higher Ed experience welcomed
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a sales team
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to thrive in a self-starting environment
  • Entrepreneurial spirit and desire to manage your territory like your own business
  • Comfortable presenting technology to individual instructors as well as to larger groups
  • A knowledge of and/or an interest in working in an academic environment—Teaching experience is a plus
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Strong internal locus of control
  • Must be located in or willing to relocate to Florida, California/Nevada, Boston, or Chicago

Salary Description
$50K-$80K with Annual Commission
