The Senior IT Infrastructure Engineer manages the company’s information technology (IT) Infrastructure, network, and core enterprise IT services such as email, IdP, IAM, virtualized servers, cybersecurity, and VoIP. This senior position works with managed services partners and professional services to plan, guide, and direct the strategic maintenance, lifecycle management, cybersecurity, and transitions to newer innovative technology solutions through thought leadership, experience, and industry best practices. You will be experienced in creating and implementing IT policies and systems that will meet and exceed company strategy and objectives with solidly aligned IT strategies and roadmaps. You have vast experience and knowledge in technology and systems. You have a solid hands-on technical background with the ability to communicate in business terms as well as effectively collaborate with cross functional IT teams. Your goal is to ensure Nordic Naturals employees and IT systems are maximally effective and disruption free.

Essential Function Statement(s)

• Lead the technical management of IT infrastructure for the company, including storage, backup, servers, virtualization, and networks
• Analyze, optimize, and test disaster recovery capabilities of critical business systems and infrastructure
• Establish efficiency and efficacy standards, providing recommendations for improvement of IT Infrastructure, networking, and cybersecurity
• Analyze IT infrastructure and systems performance to assess gaps in best practices and remediate them
• Oversee security of systems, networks, and enterprise information and facilitate IT security audits or investigations
• Secure IT infrastructure, proactively leveraging Identity and Access Management tools, Role Based Access Control, as well as responding to the SIEM
• Write and maintain IT infrastructure documentation
• Share knowledge with and mentor other IT staff for departmental growth
• Management of data backup and recovery
• Partner with other IT professionals to cohesively move the collective IT roadmap forward
• Manage and maintain relationships with external IT vendors and service providers
• Drive integration optimization of modernization of corporate networking 
• Continuously improve cross functional knowledge management processes and platforms
• Work as part of a team of problem solvers, helping to solve complex business issues from strategy to execution
• Provide daily technical leadership, direction, and structure to the IT team for Infrastructure and networking
• Work closely with the Manager of IT to design and implement technology innovations that support the Nordic Naturals Vision and Mission while optimizing IT cost
• Works to increase user satisfaction
• Consult with users, management, vendors, and technicians to assess computing needs and system requirements 
• Performs daily operational tasks
• Stay abreast of advances in technology 
• Develop computer information resources, providing for data security and control, strategic computing, and disaster recovery
• Assist the IT Manager with managing operational budget and expenditures for these IT functional areas
• Develop and interpret department goals and objectives that align with organizational goals 
• Review project plans to plan and coordinate project activity 
• Perform hardware refreshes
• Perform operating system patching and upgrades

SKILLS & ABILITIES 

• Local Server Virtualization (Windows Server, Linux, VMware, Hyper-V)
• Local Backup Administration (Veeam, Cohesity)
• Advanced Scripting and Automation (PowerShell, Python, REST APIs, Zapier, MuleSoft)
• Network design, protocols, and troubleshooting (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, FTP, Subnets, Routing)
• Experience with both legacy VPN and modern ZTNA (IPSec, WireGuard, Zscaler, Cloudflare)
• IdP Administration (Google Workspace, Entra ID, Okta)
• Experience implementing RBAC and IAM
• Cloud Architecture Compute Administration (AWS, GCP, Azure)
• Cloud Storage Administration (SharePoint, Google Drive, Dropbox, S3)
• Linux and Windows Server management, MS-SQL administration is a plus
• Aware of MDM tools and endpoint concepts
• Cloud design and migration
• Data storage concepts and iSCSI
• Experience in analysis, implementation and evaluation of IT systems and their specifications
• Experience in managing and controlling information technology budget
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Proficient in latest technology for IT systems and management
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related software
• Excellent organizational, analytical, leadership and interpersonal skills

Other Requirements 

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or similar is required; masters degree preferred
• At least 8 years of growing technical roles in an IT department

Pay, Benefits & Perks:

The estimated annual pay for this role is $135,000 to $165,000. This pay is an estimate and the exact compensation may vary depending on an applicant’s location, skills, prior experience, professional qualifications, and other relevant factors. Additional compensation may also include incentive compensation (i.e. bonus or commission) if applicable.
